My name is Chef Shawn Sei, a San Diego personal chef and caterer.  I’m also a consumer, creator, and food critic.  This blog is dedicated to sharing my passion for food with you all, focusing on my style of cooking, global cuisine, culinary interests, and San Diego’s food scene.  San Diego has such a rich food history influenced by its close proximity to Mexico and the diverse ethnic communities that call San Diego home.

I was born in Cambodia where, as a member of a large family, I developed a passion for cooking at an early age.  I realized that cooking is like painting, a touch here and a dab there can create a whole new masterpiece.  Calling it creative is an understatement, it is an art of flavors and presentation.  Food is a great way for people to connect.  To cook for, offer, and share food is a gesture of love.  The act of gathering around the table to have a meal with friends and love ones is both nostalgic and inspiring.

Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of culinary-related endeavors, including chef for student row houses at Stanford University (where Chelsea Clinton was one of my clients) as well owner/chef of a small restaurant.  I am now a full-time caterer, part-time blogger and foodie.  I am one of the fortunate ones to have a profession that involves a skill that I love so dearly.

Feel free to contact me if you have any comments, questions, or interested in my personal chef and catering services.  You can find more information about my personal chef and catering services on my website, facebook, and Yelp.
